Finzel Public Relations was founded in Madrid in 2003 by Piers Finzel, a long time British expatriate resident in Spain with years of experience in the local corporate communications business. The agency was created in response to demand by partner agencies in other key European markets who needed on-the-ground support in Spain as part of wider international campaigns being carried out on behalf of their clients, and that has been the cornerstone of Finzel PR’s service offering ever since.
Over the years, the agency has shown an exponential growth in revenue, and has developed particular experience in the areas of Technology and Industry, Healthcare, Education, and Financial Services, as well as in the Travel and Tourism sector. Operating both in Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon, Finzel PR’s team of senior consultants are fully multilingual and are able to provide clients with a fully objective view and understanding of business and consumer markets in both Spain and Portugal.
Finzel PR is equally at home working either as a standalone agency for businesses with specific commercial interests in the Spanish and Portuguese markets or as partners in both countries within an international multi-agency campaign, using our knowledge and expertise to help client companies achieve their goals locally whilst maintaining adherence to the global strategy.
Piers Finzel – Managing Director
After a number of years of senior PR consultancy experience in the Madrid office of one of Spain’s top ranked independent communications consultancies, Piers left in November 2003 in order to found Finzel PR as a small, client-orientated public relations agency, and support branch for international partner agencies. As a British expatriate based in Madrid for many years, Piers heads an experienced team focused on offering the ‘personal touch’, high-quality service and a bridge over the language gap for foreign companies. He is specialist in the areas of Travel and Tourism, Professional & Consumer Technologies, Telecommunications and vertical Industry sectors such as Robotics, Logistics, Motor Industry, Electronics and Food Manufacturing
Marisol Lefler – Office Manager
Responsible for planning, organization and administration of the Finzel PR offices. Bilingual Spanish-English, she also coordinates activities relating to the translation, proofreading and distribution of content, material and documentation. Before joining the business, Marisol held similar positions in engineering firms Soluziona Ingenieria and Técnicas Reunidas in Madrid, and previously in a number of companies in London whilst resident in the UK
Nuria Cardoso – Partner/Director of Content
20 years experience working with the Spanish media, 10 years as PR consultant. Joined Finzel PR in September 2007, after 10 years as chief editor of Movilfonia, consumer focused mobile phones publication. Author of articles in El Mundo newspaper and, habitually, in the Microsoft Corporate Magazine. Recognized with Vodafone Journalism Prize and Accenture Journalism Second Prize. Bilingual French-Spanish, her key PR experience is in Pro IT, Consumer IT, Financial, Insurance, Education and Marketing sectors
Violeta Larrad – Partner/Senior Consultant
Communication consultant with over 20 years experience and specialist in corporate and internal communication as well as crisis management, and expert in the fields of PR for Engineering, Industrial and Telecommunications sectors. She began her career as deputy director of communication for the Andalucian government’s Emergency Healthcare Service before going on to manage communication in-house for ONO (cable TV and Internet provider) and INECO, the civil engineering consultancy firm funded by the Ministry of Public Works. She has also worked in some of Spain’s leading PR agencies managing clients such as Spanish Postal Service, Pikolín, Mahou, Ferrovial, Mapfre y Pepsico Restaurants, amongst others
Jordi Ferrer – Senior Consultant /Barcelona Delegate
Jordi has nearly 20 years experience working for PR and Marketing agencies in Spain, where his responsibilities have covered everything from media relations and marketing consultancy through to event organisation. Based in Barcelona, he is specialist in the fields of Tourism, Gastronomy and Interior Design. He began his career managing national and international communication projects for the Catalonian Wine Institute (INCAVI)
Isabel Antão – Senior Consultant/Lisbon Delegate
Isabel has more than 20 years of professional public relations, media liaison and event management experience in Portugal. Before joining Finzel PR as delegate in Lisbon, she worked as Account Director at a leading Portuguese PR agency where her responsibilities also included managing relations with international PR networks and coordinating international business. Her PR experience extends to multiple sectors, including professional and consumer technology, industry, and FMCGs, amongst many others
Rodrigo Vasconcellos – Director Digital Marketing
Rodrigo has worked for over 15 years as a consultant specialising in new technologies, digital communication and online marketing for client organizations from diverse sectors such as public administration, industry, car manufacturing and insurance. His responsibilities range from web design and content management to social media and online marketing campaigns
